Rufino (Luis Fernando Peña) is a teenage boy forced to live in a foster home after his father goes missing. Without any parental supervision, Rufino enjoys a life of petty crime and recreational drug use. When his girlfriend, Xochitl (Maya Zapata), learns she is pregnant, Rufino hatches a plan to steal and sell a bag of cocaine in hopes of using the money to run away with her. Meanwhile, Rufino becomes obsessed with finding his father, who he believes is still alive.
