Karen and her boyfriend discover a hidden brass bed. Karen, a successful illustrator of children's books uses it to inspire her designs. But the bed soon gives inspiration of a different kind. Old memories from a frightful childhood mingle with new nightmares, all seemingly released by sleeping in the long hidden bed. The terrors invade her waking life; they decay her loving relationship to Jerry with dark fantasies and scar her artwork. Karen thinks a malevolent spirit has been awakened and it's changing her - she begins seeing things, and she thinks the things are seeing her.
