Die Like a Man

"Die Like a Man" is a coming of age dramatic thriller about Freddy, a teen desperate to become a man by proving his worth to the local tribe of gangsters. To test his mettle, Freddy is given a .38 mm handgun by Solo, a charismatic gangster-mentor who tempts Freddy to run the gauntlet by shooting Solo’s old rival Boxer on the day Freddy turns 17. Solo trains Freddy for the mission, warning Freddy to shoot straight and never drop his gun or else he won’t “die like a man.” Freddy's only true friend is Luna, a Morrissey-loving, independent dreamer in love with Freddy but constantly rejected. Luna dreams of a future with Freddy who falls under the spell Solo’s vengeful ways. Freddy does the unthinkable by shooting Boxer. He is now “in” with the tribe but immediately outcast for crying after the brazen shooting. The tables turn as Freddy learns a very harsh life lesson about the ways of the street when best friends become enemies and enemies become life lessons.
