Northern Italy. In an otherwise uninhabited boarding school, two figures-a masked puppeteer, a life-size doll-awake in the same bed. Along with other identical pairings, they dress for the day and start their routine: from inspection, to playtime, to lunch. But order gradually gives way to ecstasy.
