Donner Pass

Among the residents of the suburban communities at the foothills of the Sierras, there's an urban legend that the Donner Party tragedy of 1846 was no accident, that in fact George Donner lured them up there on purpose - to eat them. The legend says that there's a curse in those mountains - if you eat living human flesh, you'll absorb the victim's life force, and live forever. They say Donner's still up there, still hunting for his next victim.
