Ecotopia

“Ecotopia”, the true Anatolian comedy that reflects the whole of Turkey is now preparing to embrace the whole nation with its strange, unique, and natural storyline. Written and directed byYüksel Aksu, “Ecotopia’’ tells the story of ecological activists who’ve abandoned the city for a new life in an Aegean village, and the funny events that take place between the villagers and themselves when they try to prevent a thermal coal plant being set up there. Şahin Irmak (Village Chief Ali), Ayşe Bosse (Katrin), and Emin Gürsoy (Extreme Mustafa) star in the film that was produced by GalataFilm. The surprise name of the film however is Claudia Roth, the Green Party Co-chairperson , The film also features village locals as various characters – an Aksu trait considering the locals he featured in his first film “Dondurmam Gaymak. Other surprise guest appearances include Former Turkish Minister Yüksel Yalova , Bulutsuzluk Özlemi and Nejat Yavaşoğulları, the leading vocalist of the band Bulutsuzluk Özlemi.   Director's last film was official submission from Turkey for Academy Awards.
