In 1990s Bosnia, Kenan, a Muslim cellist, and Milan, a Serbian student, try to flee the ethnic wars and the daily discrimination they face. As Serb aggression persists, Kenan's faith makes him a prime target. To avoid questioning, he dresses as a woman and takes on the role of Milan's wife. Will the charade last long enough for the two men to find a way out of war-torn Bosnia?
