Juniper James, nicknamed Junebug as a little girl, once had big dreams in life. Now that she is grown, Juniper has fallen into a rut with work and dating, and not following her passion of writing. The discovery of her childhood birthday wishes from long ago magically brings Junebug—Juniper’s eight-year-old self—to life as a vision only Juniper can see! Junebug is bound and determined to rekindle the dream of writing stories, teach Juniper that true love is worth the wait, and help repair the relationship with her parents. In changing for the better, Juniper convinces talented mural artist Alex Ripley to work as the illustrator for a children’s book she is authoring. With Alex, she realizes Junebug’s lesson about true love is exactly right and works to get her life back on track.
