A slacker and wannabe filmmaker with a lousy love life and no career prospects is visited by agents of the Life Police, a secretive government agency that forces citizens to become happier, more productive members of society. But the Life Police's agenda is thrown into chaos when the team's beautiful lead agent begins to fall in love with the loser.
