Lucky Partners

Through a random twist of fate, Jean Newton (Ginger Rogers) comes to believe her artist neighbor David Grant (Ronald Colman) is a good luck charm, so she convinces him to go in on a sweepstakes ticket together. Grant complies but only if she agrees to take a platonic trip with him before marrying her boyfriend Freddie (Jack Carson). They do indeed win the prize, so Jean and David take a trip to Niagara Falls with the jealous Freddie on their heels, resulting in all three of them facing down a judge in a criminal case where David reveals there’s more to him than meets the eye.
