Aspiring pianist Casper lives alone with his mother Marit, having never met his father. Things seem to be going well when he is invited to join a youth orchestra and makes friends with Anouk, but everything changes when he learns that his mother is seriously ill with cancer. Scared of what might happen to her, Casper and his best friend Pim decide to find his father.
