Parting Glances

Parting is usually such sweet sorrow, but in the case of this Bill Sheerwood film it may be a welcome break. Michael (Richard Ganoung) and Robert (John Bolger) are a gay couple in New York, coming to terms with Robert's impending departure as he prepares for a two-year assignment in Africa. Michael must cope with his partner's move and the motivations behind this decision, while also dealing with his ex-boyfriend's battle with AIDS. Robert may be looking for an escape and their friends, including Michael's ex-boyfriend Nick (Steve Buscemi), are quick to share their opinions. Sometimes goodbye is not farewell, but sometimes it is forever.
