Pogey Beach is an outrageous comedy that follows the coming-of-age story of Bethany Lockwood - a naive nineteen year old from Toronto who has just moved to Prince Edward Island with her overprotective father, Winslow. She catches the attention of Gary Gallant, the reigning ‘King of Pogey Beach’ - a place where unemployed beach bums spend the summer getting drunk, getting laid and having fun while collecting employment cheques from the government. Also vying for Bethany’s attention is Lyle MacDonald, a spiritual pogey bum and the nemesis of Gary Gallant. After Bethany gets a taste of working for cash under the table, she plans the ultimate job that could take down the whole beach forever. Can Lyle and Gary put aside their differences and save Pogey Beach?
