Procession
Six men who mostly grew up in the Kansas City area face the demons of their past in PROCESSION. The men claim they were abused by priests when they were young boys growing up in the Catholic Church, and most have taken up pending or past lawsuits. Starting from these legal cases, the documentary pairs the six men with a drama therapist to help them process their past trauma by reenacting scenes of what happened to them. The film follows one of the men, who works in movies, as he scouts locations for the documentary, including finding churches that will allow them to film as well as hunting down the actual sites of past abuse. A young boy is cast as the actor for all of the reenactments, while the men play the other roles in each other's stories.
