Repeat Performance
The film opens grimly with a young lady, on New Year's Eve, shooting her wretched husband and rushing forth into the night. En route, she philosophizes that she'd like to play that year over again--do a rewrite, as she puts it, on the third act--and thus avoid the horrible deed that she has just done. She suddenly find that the clock has been turned back a year, and she has to re-live the events leading up to the murder, and perhaps change them. The film is the screen debut of Richard Basehart.
