Ambitious New York attorney Sam (Daniel Henney of TV's Three Rivers, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) is transferred to Shanghai on assignment, partially because he's Chinese-American. A fish-out-of-water, he stumbles into a legal mess that could spell the end of his career. With help from a beautiful relocation specialist (Eliza Coupe of TV's Happy Endings, TV's Scrubs), a well-connected foreign businessman (Bill Paxton of TV's Hatfields & Mccoys, Twister), a clever but unassuming journalist (Geng Le), and a street-smart assistant (Zhu Zhu of Cloud Atlas), Sam might just save his job, discover romance, and learn to appreciate the many wonders Shanghai has to offer.
