The Exit State

In a near-future United States sliding toward authoritarian collapse, escalating violence and sweeping government policies have turned the country against its own citizens. Desperate to disappear, a group of Americans flees south toward the Mexican border, hoping to slip quietly out of a homeland that no longer wants them. Claire (Callie Schuttera, Weapons) and Vince (Josh George) lead the group to what they believe is a safe house, a last waypoint before the border. For a moment, it feels like refuge. But the illusion of safety collapses fast as a relentless government Agent (Sharon Lawrence, NYPD Blue, Rizzoli & Isles) closes in and the people inside the house begin to fracture under fear, suspicion, and the threat mounting outside. Directed by Gabriela Ledesma and written by Josh George, Gabriela Ledesma, and Callie Schuttera, The Exit State reunites cast members from the 2025 horror hit Weapons, including Clayton Farris (American Horror Story, Ratched, MaXXXine). Blending near-future terror with urgent political commentary, it is a taut, timely thriller about how quickly a place of safety can become a trap, and how far people will go to reach an exit that keeps receding.
