The Fighting Deputy follows the Sheriff and his deputies as they attempt to take down Scar Adams. Scar Adams is the brother of Alice Denton, the girl Deputy Tom hopes to marry. When the Sheriff is wounded, Alice tries to stop Tom from taking the position of Sheriff, but Tom is left no choice when Scar kills his father.
