The Old Maid

In this tangled tale of life and love unsatisfied, when Delia breaks her engagement to Clem and marries Jim, Clem promises to marry Delia's cousin, Charlotte. However, he dies at the Battle of Vicksburg before he and Charlotte can wed, leaving Charlotte an unwed mother. She and her daughter, Tina, move in with Delia, who legally adopts the girl. Now Charlotte must watch her daughter grow up and get married, never able to claim her as her own. Starring Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winner Bette Davis ("All About Eve") as the tragic Charlotte. Davis is joined by Oscar-winner Donald Crisp ("How Green Was My Valley") and Oscar-nominee Miriam Hopkins ("Becky Sharp").
