In 1910, in a rural southern community inhabited by Italian immigrants, two close friends come together and decide to live in the same house. But gradually, the wife of one develops an interest in the other's husband, which is reciprocated. The two lovers decide to elope, leaving their partners behind, who will live a dramatic and embarrassing experience, but not without romance.
