For families living in extreme poverty, “home” is cramped and cold—exposed to the environment and lacking security, plumbing, and clean water. Local economic, cultural, and political conditions often keep the people in these neighborhoods from moving forward. However, a radical innovation is beginning to provide vulnerable people in the US and around the world with safe, affordable housing, setting their communities on a new trajectory.
