Alphonse Ethier

Alphonse Ethier was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. In his early acting career, Ethier appeared in such films as "A Message From Mars" (1921), "The Alaskan" (1924) and "The People vs. Nancy Preston" (1925). He also appeared in "The Fighting Eagle" (1927) and "His First Command" (1929). His film career continued throughout the twenties and the thirties in productions like the adaptation "In Old Arizona" (1929) with Warner Baxter, the western "The Big Trail" (1930) with John Wayne and "Fair Warning" (1931). He also appeared in "The Match King" (1932) with Warren William and "Baby Face" (1933). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "Ex-Lady" (1933), the Edmund Lowe action picture "No More Women" (1934) and "Secret of the Chateau" (1934). He also appeared in the western "The Boss Rider of Gun Creek" (1936) with Buck Jones and "The Baroness and the Butler" (1938). Ethier last acted in the western "The Sunset Trail" (1938) with Russell Hayden. Ethier passed away in January 1943 at the age of 69.
