Andrew McMahon

American singer-songwriter Andrew McMahon was born in Concord, Massachusetts. Inspired by his uncle, McMahon started playing the piano at age 9, performing songs by ear even before he knew how to read music at school assemblies and similar events. He went on to form his first band with high school friends, some of which would later join him in more successful projects, such as the band Something Corporate, which he's known for. Fronted by McMahon, the group scored a record deal with an indie label after their first demo. Their debut EP, "Audioboxer" (2001), earned them rave reviews and led to their second studio album, "Leaving Through the Window" (2002). After touring their new material for the following years, the band decided to take a break, which McMahon used to work on a solo project, called Jack's Mannequin. He released his first solo album, "Everything in Transit" (2005) and two more would follow over the years. He kept on working on solo music during the 2010s under his own name, and branched out by writing songs for TV and film, like the end credits music for "Pete's Dragon" (2016) and the music for the series "Soundtrack" (Netflix, 2019).
