Anna Thalbach

German actress Anna Thalbach was born into an acting dynasty: her mother, Katharina Thalbach, is a respected actress and director; her father, Thomas Brasch, was a well-known poet, playwright and art-house film director; and her grandfather Benno Besson was a highly respected Swiss theater director of the mid-20th century. Though she has worked steadily since she was a child, Thalbach's international breakthrough came in the key role of Inge Viett in French director Olivier Assayas' acclaimed 2010 biopic "Carlos," about notorious international terrorist Carlos the Jackal. The following year, she appeared in a small role in David Cronenberg's historical drama "A Dangerous Method."
