In the history of American commerce, Bat Masterson is probably one of the first to take a firm stand for "fair trade." Buying one of his famous bowlers at Sharon Stabler's store, he's outraged by the price. Reason for the exorbitant tab: Barney Kaster has a monopoly on riverboat cargo. Bat's reward for breaking Kaster's hold on Whistle valley is a new "iron-hat."
