Liz (Tina Fey) gets a phone call from her ex-boyfriend Floyd (guest star Jason Sudeikis), whose flight has been cancelled and needs a place to stay overnight. After a decision by the Board of Directors, Jack is demoted down to the 12th floor causing him to question his future with the company. Meanwhile, it’s Annual Sandwich Day at TGS, and the Teamsters give delicious sandwiches to the staff from a mysterious sandwich shop in Brooklyn. Liz is furious when her sandwich is stolen forcing Tracy (Tracy Morgan), Kenneth (Jack McBrayer), Jenna (Jane Krakowski) and Frank (Judah Friedlander) to uncover the secret location from the Teamsters leader Mickey J (guest star Brian Dennehy). Scott Adsit, Lonny Ross and Maulik Pancholy also star. Rip Torn, Jason Sudeikis and Brian Dennehy guest star.

Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Christopher Meloni) are called to a chaotic situation at a high school. Two star basketball players are found in the gym, stripped and shot to death, and what appears to be a third victim, Joe Blaine (Rory Culkin), is shot in the head. Joe recovers, and the detectives feverishly look for the shooter. Joe draws pictures and appears to be very agitated and mentally unstable. He draws a photo that matches the school janitor (who had access to the murder weapon) but he is too aged and not agile enough to have escaped through the window, the only way for the gunman to have left the gym. But Joe's mental state is a big factor and they realize from prints he is the gunman.

Alicia tries to hold a website accountable when its users accuse her client, a college professor, of being linked to domestic terrorism. Meanwhile, Will goes against Diane’s wishes when he hires Damian Boyle, an unpredictable attorney with ties to organized crime, who immediately interjects himself into Alicia's website case. Also, Eli and Jackie clash over a Florrick family secret. Jason O'Mara guest stars as Damian Boyle, Lockhart/Gardner's new lawyer. Mary Stuart Masterson guest stars as Rachel, an old acquaintance of Jackie's.

With the Machine's help, Reese closes in on finding Finch as he uncovers shocking details of Root's past. Delivering the number of a cold case, The Machine leads Reese ever closer to catching up with Finch and his kidnapper.
