Bob Dorian

Born in Brooklyn, New York, actor Bob Dorian performed stand-up comedy and acrobatics, including trapeze work in a circus setting. He also worked as an illusionist under the name The Amazing Dorian. He broke into the entertainment world as a magician. In 1976 he appeared as himself in the TV Special "Magic at the Roxy." His first film credit came in 1981 when his voice was used in the movie "The Evil Dead." He remained an entertainer, working largely outside of the scripted format for several years. He hosted "Matinee Classics" on AMC (1984-2000.). He also made a number of other appearances as himself in TV series documentaries like "Movie Palace Memories" (1993), "AMC Salutes the States" (AMC, 1989), and as an announcer on the "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" (NBC, 1994). He appeared in the television series "Remember WENN" (AMC, 1996-98), playing the role of Mr. Medwick. In 2001 Dorian was cast in a small role in the Woody Allen movie "The Curse of the Jade Scorpion." He appeared in the movie "Hollywood Ending", in 2002, and played the role of James Adams in the "The Last Confederate: The Story of Robert Adams" (2005). In 2009 He was cast in the drama "Mnemonica" as Richard Ellison. In 2013 Dorian reprised his voice over role in the remake of "Evil Dead." Dorian died in June of 2019, at home in Palm Coast, FL.
