Three thugs hold up a convenience store and injure the cashier before a local homeless man fights back, killing all three criminals. The police track the man to a church where Bud is praying. Bud manages to talk to the man and discovers that he isn't a crazed maniac but rather a homeless veteran and Navy SEAL.

Still unable to pay his gambling debt, Berluti takes money from a company account and bets it on a horse. A couple coerces the man they think is guilty of murdering their son twenty years ago, to reveal them where the body is.
