Carlo L. Bragaglia

Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia worked on a variety of projects during his entertainment career. He founded the Teatro degli Indipendenti and directed films focusing on avant-garde and experimental work. He directed several documentaries. He was left for dead in a morgue during WWI; he recovered and was decorated for bravery. He teamed with his brother, Arturo, to work on experimental photography. Bragaglia received his start directing independent films, including early work on the Rhonda Fleming drama "The Queen of Babylon" (1956). Bragaglia also appeared in "Hannibal" (1960). Later in his career, Bragaglia directed "Les Vierges de Rome" (1963) with Louis Jourdan. Bragaglia passed away in January 1998 at the age of 104.
