When a community activist is gunned down, one brave witness comes forward to testify against a well-known gang member who is thought to have murdered 15 people. While the detectives work diligently to put him away, working with the gorgeous and driven Valerie Hudson (guest star ROSELYN SANCHEZ – Without a Trace), the assistant district attorney assigned to prosecute the case, television host BILL O'REILLY (guest-starring as himself) comes to town for a book signing and criticizes the police department on-air.

As a journalist assigned to interview Luther Hill, a 16-year-old gang member on death row, Monica must try and make him see that, although it's too late to change the course of his life, he can make a difference in the lives of his younger brother and his mother, Valerie (guest star Debbie Allen), whom he will leave behind. During her prison visits, Monica also comes in contact with Willis (guest star Carl Lumbly), a fellow death row prisoner who realizes he has much more in common with Luther than their fate and history of violence.
