Dennis Boutsikaris

Although two-time Obie Award-winning actor Dennis Boutsikaris is best known for his work in off-Broadway plays, he's also had relative success as a leading man in TV and film. Born of mixed Greek and Jewish heritage in Newark, New Jersey, Boutsikaris earned his stage chops as a touring member of John Houseman's The Acting Company. Beginning in the 1980s, Boutsikaris began racking up a slew of TV credits, appearing in starring roles on the TV drama "Nurse,"and sitcoms "Stat" and "The Jackie Thomas Show." He later garnered widespread critical notice for his off-Broadway performances, most notably his portrayal of Jonathan Waxman in playwright Donald Margulies's "Sight Unseen." But Boutsikaris is perhaps best known by TV audiences as a frequenter of made-for-TV movies, including sensationalized docudramas such as the murder mystery "Victim of Love: The Shannon Mohr Story" (1993) and "Love and Betrayal: The Mia Farrow Story" (1995), in which he portrayed a vilified Woody Allen in the much-publicized Farrow-Allen-Soon Yi love triangle.
