Ethan Griffiths

Ethan Griffiths was a Welsh stage and TV actor who broke out in 2015 after joining the main cast of the FX historical series "The Bastard Executioner" (FX, 2015). Griffiths was born in the coastal Welsh city of Swansea, and developed a love of performing at a very young age. Having noticed their son's affinity for entertaining, Griffiths' parents enrolled him in a local art school at the age of five. It was there that the young boy was taught acting, as well as music and art. His true passion, however, was for performing in front of an audience, and within a few months of enrolling in classes he was already appearing in several of the school's stage productions. Then in 2015 Griffiths landed his big break when Kurt Sutter, who was best known as the creator of the biker gang drama "Sons of Anarchy" (FX, 2008-2014), cast the young actor as one of the leads in his new historical action series "The Bastard Executioner." The show, which is set in the 14th Century, was primarily shot in Griffiths' native country of Wales. So when Sutter was casting the project, he was also looking for Welsh actors to play the parts, thus adding a layer of authenticity to the series. Griffiths just happened to be one of several U.K. actors to be cast on "The Bastard Executioner." The series debuted on FX on September 15, 2015, with Griffiths starring as Luca Maddox, a young boy who becomes corrupted by his family's past.
