Portwenn is buzzing with arrangements for the wedding of Doc Martin and Louisa. Will they finally tie the knot, or will the villagers have to put the confetti back in the box again?

PC Penhale spreads pandemonium throughout the village, and Bert pops the question to Jennifer.

Martin and Louisa are woken up by two fisherman after the discovery of a collapsed mystery man. Unfortunately Martin faces scrutiny after he helps the stranger. Meanwhile, Louisa has a hard time trusting James’ new sitter and finds herself sneaking around to check up on the man.

Martin and Louisa host a disastrous dinner party, their new nanny quits, and PC Penhale goes on a charm offensive to win friends.

Martin is coerced into taking James to a playgroup, and Ruth has problems with her new neighbor.

Martin once again finds himself to be the object of Mrs. Tishell’s affection. Mike Pruddy is under suspicion from the police. Martin has an important discussion with his mother and Louisa fails to make Martin open up about losing his father.
