H.E.R.

Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson known professionally as H.E.R. was born in Vallejo, California. An award winning R&B singer, H.E.R. began performing professionally at a young age under the name, Gabi Wilson. By 11 years old she had performed on the Today Show and at the Apollo Theater. She also debuted as an actor in the tv movie "School Gyrls" (Nickelodeon, 2009). In 2016, she released her debut EP "H.E.R. Vol. 1" under the newly rebranded stage name, H.E.R. (pronounced "her" as an acronym for Having Everything Revealed). Using industry contacts and social media to spread the word, H.E.R. was getting noticed. After releasing two more EPs, she combined them in her first compilation album "H.E.R." (2017). The album received five Grammy nominations, winning Best R&B Album in 2019. Amid touring and performing her second compilation album came out titled "I Used to Know Her" (2019). Her first full-length album "Back of My Mind" (2021) included her chart-topping single "Damage." In addition to her musical contributions, H.E.R. was cast in her first feature film for the movie adaptation of The Color Purple (2023).
