The sexual assault of a heroin addict (guest star Martha Plimpton) leads Detectives Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Christopher Meloni) to the gruesome discovery of a decomposing baby's finger in the victim's purse. As they search for both the rapist and the identity of the baby, the detectives find that their assault victim might be withholding information to protect her icy mother (Oscar-winning guest star Mary Steenburgen) or her protective grandmother (Oscar-winning guest star Estelle Parsons).

After a skeleton is found on a tour bus and turns out to be over a decade old, Mac and the team use the backpack they have found to track the belongings to a young man named Aaron Moreland, only to learn that the body they have cannot possibly belong to him. (TV-14)

Antoine Batiste does a good deed, and a homeowner suspects Nelson Hidalgo's deeds may not be so good. Davis McAlary fails to sign Sugar Boy Crawford for his opera, but Delmond Lambreaux gets his father to sign up for assistance from New Orleans Musicians' Clinic. L.P. Everett learns that his headless skeleton was not always so.
