Incident of the Gentlemans Gentleman
An English valet whose master has been killed by buffalo hunters joins the trail drive and insists he become Gil Favor's man servant. Shortly after Lord Ashton, an English nobleman, is killed by buffalo hunters when he tries to bag a buffalo for himself, his valet, Woolsey, joins the trail drive and appoints himself Gil Favors man servant. Favor is fed tea, is shaved, bathed, and cooked fine foods by Woolsey. Later, the drovers are challenged by the buffalo hunters who don't want Favor's herd to spook their buffalo. They threaten warfare if Favor tries to move his herd across a river. With the help of Woolsey, who is mistaken for Lord Ashton, the townspeople of nearby Sharpes agree to help Favor settle his differences with the buffalo hunters. But it is Woolsey who stands up to the buffalo hunter.
