Darrin reacts violently when he finds Brian O'Brian, a sprightly leprechaun, a guest in his home. Samantha tells him that Brian is not her relative but the leprechaun of Darrin's family. Brian reveals he has come to recover his pot of gold which was hidden in a fireplace brought to America by James Dennis Robinson. Darrin finds that Robinson owns a company whose account would be a great asset to Darrin's agency. Brian breaks into Robinson's house to retrieve the gold and is arrested. Darrin allows Samantha to use her magic to get Brian out of jail. Brian pleads with Samantha to help him recover his pot of gold which will restore his lost powers.

While the rest of the famil go about their various chores, Herman leaves the house to pursue his new hobby, taking pictures. Unfortunately, he is unable to find willing models to pose and is forced to take uninteresting pictures at various spots around town, including the Mockingbird Heights National Bank Building.

Beaver and Wally learn a valuable lesson after they become friends with two young boys who have less than they do.

Parker's Pet Store is holding a big contest in which the contestants guess how many fish are swimming around in the big tank sitting in front of the store. Eddie works there and gives the correct answer to Lumpy who in turn gives the answer to Kathy because he has a crush on her. On the day of the drawing, Mr. Parker fires Eddie because he knows he is the one who leaked the information.

Beaver finds his old teddy bear Billy in the garage one day when he, Wally, and Ward are cleaning it out. After Wally teases him, Beaver reluctantly throws Billy in the garbage. When he returns later to retrieve Billy, he realizes that the bear is gone and he must go to drastic measures to get him back.

Kitty hires a pretty female faro dealer despite Matt Dillon's warning that she is inviting trouble.
