Bull represents Jemma Whitbeck (Chloe Levine), a teenager arrested for robbing a jewelry store with an older man she disappeared with 18 months ago. To persuade the jury she is not guilty, Bull argues that Jemma was actually a victim of his abuse and manipulation and not his willing accomplice.

Seemingly random people are being murdered by an elusive killer stalking the streets of New York and Detectives Fontana (Dennis Farina) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) follow the bloody trail to a hit list with the names of the targets - including A.D.A. Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston). McCoy soon realizes the list is a roster of witnesses called in the trial of a multiple-murderer he prosecuted five years ago. As witnesses dwindle and the convicted murder's retrial looms ever closer, Fontana and Green must race to find the killer while McCoy puts his own life on the line to see that justice is done. S. Epatha Merkerson, Annie Parisse and Fred Dalton Thompson also star.

When a college girl is found beheaded at a sorority party, the entire team focuses on their toughest case yet. The victims wear t-shirts emblazoned with a logo inspired by Greek mythology that offers clues and hidden messages. By tracking the codes on the web, the team discovers that a serial killer is replicating the fate of mythological creatures by killing people in the same manner, and the only way to stop him is to unravel the hidden codes before he strikes again. When an old truck containing human bones is pulled from the Delaware River, Rush and Valens reopen a 1932 missing persons case. The detectives link the truck and its contents to a former prohibition era bootlegger and learn that the bones may belong to his sister, Rose, who unexpectedly went missing with the truck.
