A gas explosion in a diner injures several people. Haunted by the memory of her heroic fireman father, paramedic Taylor refuses to leave behind a trapped little girl, Nazira (JOLIE PETERS). Meanwhile, Sully receives an unwelcome surprise from his energetic wife, Tatiana (recurring guest star SAVANNAH HASKE), when she brings home his elderly mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. Doherty and Kim compete to impress a court-appointed adjudicator, Margo Rodriguez (VIOLA DAVIS), who will decide custody of their young son. And Carlos and his pet parrot move in with new roommate Davis.
