Jon Culshaw

British comedian Jon Culshaw got his start in the business as a radio announcer. Early on in his career, in the late 1980s, he demonstrated a penchant for impressions and comedic voices when he read the weather in the voice of legendary heavyweight boxing champ Frank Bruno. While working at Viking FM in Hull, a receptionist convinced him to focus on his knack for impressions and make it his career. The advice paid off, and in the mid-'90s, while doing voiceover work, he was cast on the mega-hit satirical puppet program "Spitting Image." He provided the voice to around forty characters, making him an instant star. In 1998, his fame gathered even more momentum when, while working on the radio, he impersonated the leader of the Conservative Party, William Hague, and managed to get on the phone with Prime Minister Tony Blair, who despite catching on to the joke, carried on a long conversation with him. He has since appeared on many key British comedy programs doing celebrity impressions. For example, from 2002 to 2006, he impersonated George W. Bush, Tony Blair, and Arnold Schwarzenegger on "Dead Ringers," and on "The Impressions Show with Culshaw and Stephenson" he played Simon Cowell and Sir Alan Sugar, among others. He also makes regular appearances on game and reality shows such as "Celebrity Mastermind" and "Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack."
