Kazuo Ikehiro

Kazuo Ikehiro was a Japanese film director. He is known for directing Zatoichi series and the highly acclaimed film Onna Gokuakuchō. In 1950, he joined the Daiei Film and started working as an assistant director under Kenji Mizoguchi etc. In 1960, he was promoted to director and debuted with Bara Daimyo. Ikehiro died of a heart attack in Tokyo, on 15 October 2025, at the age of 95.
