Fearing that his darkest secret will be revealed because of the search for Roger Grimes murderer, Blake vows to take the rap to put an end to the investigation; Dex and Sable both go after Heath. Toying with Dex, Sable leads him on enough to arouse his desires, and then turns him off like a cold shower; Virginia is unable to hide her fiery dislike for Dex. This does not go unnoticed by Adam's ruthless curiosity; after getting wounded in a shoot out with Gibson, Sammy Jo Lies trapped, as fire rages through the barn.

Streetwise Detective David Starsky partners up with a more intellectual partner, Kenneth 'Hutch' Hutchinson, to protect citizens and patrol the streets of Bay City. They get their inside information from flamboyant bad-boy Huggy Bear and spar with their no-nonsense boss, Capt. Harold Dobey.
