Lauro David Chartrand-DelValle

A highly prolific stuntman and stunt coordinator, Lauro Chartrand also appears on occasion as an actor and has ventured into directing. After an active childhood in rural Canada, Chartrand pursued his dream of becoming a stuntman, initially performing dangerous maneuvers in little-seen B-movies and working his way up to stunts in action-heavy major TV shows such as "MacGyver" and "The X-Files." Before long, his stunt work naturally overlapped into acting, with Chartrand credited with bit parts in various fight-filled productions, including the 1995 Jackie Chan-starring martial-arts movie "Rumble in the Bronx," as well as a stint playing the heroic Michelangelo in the short-lived live-action series "Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation." Stunts, however, have remained Chartrand's focus, with the rugged performer working on various films, including the 2004 horror thriller "Dawn of the Dead" and the sci-fi hit "I, Robot," even serving as stunt coordinator on numerous episodes of the superhero series "Smallville," starring Tom Welling. In 2006, Chartrand began working behind the camera as a second unit director, notably serving in this capacity, as well as stunt coordinator, on episodes of the Steven Seagal crime show "True Justice." In addition to directing one episode of that series, Chartrand also helmed the Seagal action film "Born to Raise Hell."
