A 71-year-old man goes missing. The team searches for the man who was last seen getting into a car with two guys. Academy Award winner Martin Landau ("Mission Impossible," "Ed Wood") reprises his role of Frank Malone, Jack's father.

As part of the child custody battle, Jack endures a lengthy, brutal deposition by his wife's divorce attorney, during which his wife, Maria (recurring guest star Talia Balsam), unexpectedly arrives. Maria's cutthroat lawyer uses Jack's childhood traumas, his past affair with Samantha and his dedication to his job against him. Meanwhile, a noticeably distracted Samantha ponders whether or not she's responsible for Jack's current personal woes. Recurring guest star Martin Landau ("Mission Impossible" television series, "Ed Wood") appears as Jack's father, Frank, and recurring guest star Timothy Busfield appears as Jack's attorney, Ed Felder.

Samantha investigates the case of a woman with amnesia who may not only be a missing person but a murderer. Meanwhile, Jack's father, Frank, who is battling Alzheimer's disease, no longer has the will to live as his condition grows increasingly worse, and Jack feels that he has no choice but to have his father declared incompetent so he can get the treatment he needs.
