Thomas Marchek, a convicted pedophile, is murdered in his own neighborhood under the watchful eye of vigilantes who clearly don’t want him around. The Detectives question the parents of the young girl, Corinne (Briana Steinhilber), that Marchek raped, whose mother could be under suspicion.

A betrayal intensifies the issues between Cristina and Meredith; Matthew and April make a decision about their relationship; Bailey faces difficulties with Ben's return.

A part-time referee is found murdered, and Detectives Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin) and Cyrus Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) investigate the victim's gambling habits. The detectives are led to notorious hustler, 'Bunny' (guest star Bobby Jones), a familiar face from Detective Green's past. When 'Bunny' is found dead, Detective Lupo is called to the scene and discovers his partner, Detective Green, is the shooter causing confusion in the department and disbelief in the DA's office. The case is turned over to internal affairs Detective Kevin Bernard (Anthony Anderson) and Sergeant Gregory Cole (guest star Peter Bradbury), leaving Detective Green to face his dark past and in danger of losing his badge. Sam Waterston, S. Epatha Merkerson, Linus Roache and Alana De La Garza also star.

The squad fears terrorism after a judge and a lawyer receive letters filled with white powder; Internal affairs puts the squeeze on Clark to rat out Andy after the death of a hooker informant.; Jones gets back into the dating pool with another co-worker.

Tommy and Sheila do their best to adjust to life after Damian’s accident. Sheila copes with her grief, Tommy struggles to budget his time, and the guys find themselves with a new pickup ploy.
