Macha Méril

A French actress with royal Russian roots, Macha Méril has more than 125 screen credits to her name. She first found significant attention for her starring role in Jean-Luc Godard's 1964 film "Une Femme Mariée" and later had a part in Luis Buñuel's renowned drama "Belle du Jour." Méril went on to work primarily in television, but also made occasional movie appearances, as in Dario Argento's tense thriller "Deep Red" and Agnès Varda's drama "Vagabond." Featured extensively on TV in subsequent decades, she had a supporting role in the 1999 French miniseries "Tramontane" and continued to turn up infrequently in films, including the 2012 romantic comedy "Happiness Never Comes Alone."
