A group of home cooks prepare their signature dishes in the first of two audition shows, hoping to get a place in the main competition.

Three cooks who failed to impress the judges in the last challenge find themselves facing a pressure test - a complex but delicate dessert set by professional pastry chef Darren Purchese.

Its the end of the first week in the MasterChef kitchen and the winners from yesterday's challenge will cook for an immunity pin. But it won't be easy, they'll be cooking against chef Curtis Stone.

The contestants are tasked with cooking a dish they would eat for the rest of their lives if they found themselves on a deserted island; they have an open pantry and 75 minutes to create something delicious.

As the week in Western Australia nears its end, three of the contestants face an elimination challenge, with all of them desperate to make it through to finals week.

The semi-finalists enter the kitchen to compete for the chance to win one of the two places in the grand finale. But before they begin the judges have a couple of surprise announcements.
