Maura M. Knowles

Maura Megan Knowles is a versatile actor, singer, and writer. Her career in Los Angeles began when Warren Beatty noticed her on the set of her first project and upgraded her to a featured role in the 1998 film "Bulworth" (1998). Since then, she has built an extensive television career with guest appearances on numerous hit series, including "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (NBC, 1999-), "ER" (NBC, 1994-2008), "Medium" (NBC, 2005-10), "Numb3rs" (CBS, 2005-09), "Lie to Me" (Fox, 2009-10), "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (CW, 2015-18), "Rosewood" (Fox, 2015-16), "Stitchers" (Freeform, 2015-17), "Girlfriends" (UPN, 2000-2005; CW, 2006-07), and "The Young and the Restless" (CBS, 1973-). She also played a recurring role on "The Bold and the Beautiful" (CBS, 1987-2004). Her musical background features performances across a range of productions, from Francis Ford Coppola's musical adaptation of "Gidget" to the acclaimed rock musical "Bare," as well as the movie musical "Spit Me Out" (2024). Outside of her acting work, Knowles was chosen as one of only twelve songwriters to participate in the Mercer Great American Songwriting Program at Northwestern University in Chicago. Her versatile writing career spans screenplays, television pilots, magazine pieces, trade publication articles and blogs. Her theatrical plays and musicals in development have been featured at various theater festivals. In her personal life, she is a passionate traveler, avid reader, and gluten-free baker.
