When Bull fronts the money to help thousands of people bring a class action suit against a corrupt bank, he stands to lose his business if he doesn't win at trial. Also, Benny hurts the case when he's distracted by his attraction to a client and his anxiety over a secret he's keeping from Bull.

Bull represents a large insurance company and its clients, married pizzeria owners who are being sued for negligence by a teenager who was injured while climbing their rooftop signage. As the trial gets underway, Bull realizes the case has no clear winners, as the small business owners could lose their livelihood, the plaintiff may never walk again and the insurance company refuses to settle.

Flashbacks to the past reveal the fateful events that led CIA Deputy Director Erica Shepherd to betray her country and the ensuing investigation that put her on a collision course with Will Keaton.
