The first day back at school proves to be very educational: Ben (JEREMY MILLER) learns to face fear; Carol (TRACEY GOLD) gets a strange date for the dance; and Mike (KIRK CAMERON) becomes infatuated and learns a big lesson.

Fellow private investigator Charlie Frome is killed by a hit-and-run driver, apparently while working on a case, and Joe Mannix decides to see if he can determine why Frome was murdered.

Ridge tries to find out what Caroline really feels about Thorne. Mark apologizes to Donna who tries to convince him that Rocco is only a friend. Later she realizes that she has not taken her birth control pills and Mark insists that she take the home pregnancy test. The district attorney asks Caroline to reenact the rape. Brooke confronts Ridge with her belief that Caroline is in love with Thorne.

Stephanie feels that Caroline has treated Ridge unfairly and suspects that Brook is pleased with this outcome. Dave asks Brooke for the complete story on her and Ridge and tells her that he will wait for her because he loves her so much. Alex returns and asks Storm if he has been involved with another woman. Caroline asks Thorne to reconcile with his brother.

Dave reassures Caroline that the entire police force is behind the investigation. Donna misses Rocco and asks Mark to take her dancing. Katie confides her fears in Grandma Logan who advises her that Rocco needs a second chance. Thorne and Caroline share a tender moment.

Eric is worried about Beth but tries to act surprised when Stephanie tells him about Beth’s mastectomy. Beth checks into the hospital with her bible which is inscribed “Liz Henderson.” Kristen accuses Clarke of seeing another woman and when he doesn’t deny it she storms out of the room. Stephanie visits Beth in the hospital and wishes her the best.
